Ross Rocks!

Have you ever dreamt of slamming your guitar on stage? Recording an album in a professional studio? Writing your own
songs?

Three youth rock bands are already rehearsing and learning the ropes from industry pros at the Y-Zone in Ross-on-Wye.

Whether you’ve already got a band or if you are thinking of starting one, you too could get support from professional musicians to improve your skills, write your own songs and develop your band.

If you don’t have a band, you might be able to join one. You might even be able to get trained up from scratch on an instrument if you haven’t played one before. All you need is a commitment to rehearsals and a passion for all things rock.

There will also be opportunities to take part in an album recording. In 2007, New Roots will be running its Building Bands programme again, offering tuition to existing youth bands through ‘Building Bands Clinics’ where young musicians will receive expert tuition. Building Band will culminate in the studio recording of an album.

The band development workshops take place on Wednesday evenings at the Y-Zone Youth Club in Ross. The sessions are open to anyone under 18. For more info contact Barry Stevens on 01989 563611. You can also email julie.musicpool@hotmail.com
