Tuna Pizza Recipe
For a a cheap alternative to take away pizza try making your own! This recipe is quick and easy and taste's delicious according to InSITE reporter Nathan Rollinson.
INGREDIENTS
Pizza Base
150g/5½oz self-raising flour
25g/1oz unsalted butter
30ml/1fl oz whole milk
Toppings
1 tsp olive oil
4 large tomatoes sliced
100g Cheddar cheese
Large tin of tuna (drained)
6 fresh basil leaves, chopped
7-10 black olives (with the stones taken out), sliced.
HOW TO MAKE IT
For The Base:
Preheat the oven to 200C/400F/Gas 6, and place a baking sheet inside.
For the pizza base, in a food processor mix together the flour and butter, gradually adding the milk to bind the mixture into a dough.
Lightly flour a clean kitchen surface, and take the dough and flatten into a disc, approximately 1cm/½ inches thick.
For The Topping
Arrange the sliced tomatoes on the dough and sprinkle some of the cheese over the top.
You can add any of your favourite toppings to your pizza base. Here's the tuna bit!
Arrange the tuna evenly over the top of the cheese and sprinkle with basil. Finish with another layer of cheese. And then sprinkle the sliced ovlives over the top.
Place the pizza onto the hot baking sheet and cook, in the oven, for 10-15 minutes, or until golden and cooked through.
