Elliott Hems-man tells his story

Elliott received an' acquired brain injury' as a result of being involved in a fight and has been making positive recovery as a result of the care from Hereford County Hospital and help and support from Hereford Headway.

Elliott is trying to get his life back on track by getting back into work at Arctic Circle where he was doing an engineering apprenticeship. Now he talks about moving into his own flat in Hereford and what this means to his' Independence'.

Volunteer at Hereford Headway

Herefordshire Headway offers support to adults with acquired brain injury and their carers. We help people between 18 and 65 years who have had accidents, illnesses, strokes or brain haemorrhages, and also provide help and support for their families and carers. Herefordshire Headway was set up in 1989, as an independent local charity, being affiliated to National Headway. We are concerned with all aspects of the care and rehabilitation of adults with acquired brain injury, whatever the cause, who live in Herefordshire. At present we have between 80 and 90 members who attend our day centre regularly.
