ThePoint4 Open day
A wonderful day and a celebration of success!
The official opening of thePoint4 at the Royal National College for the Blind took place on a day of glorious sunshine, reflecting the excitement and celebratory atmosphere of the occasion. There were many magic moments as 120 guests relaxed with staff and students in our Bistro or on the roof top terrace, toured the fantastic facilities and joined us in the amazing sports hall for the hugely entertaining and celebratory opening ceremony.
The combination of a wonderful setting, excellent food and good company provided the perfect atmosphere. The official ceremony was the highlight of the day, with some entertaining footage of celebrities from TV and sport sharing their enthusiasm for the state of the art facilities at RNC and sending their good wishes to the England Blind Football Team as they embarked on their journey to France this weekend for the European Blind Football Championship. We also saw a film of the Blind Football team demonstrating the complexities of the game – and Des Kelly, sports journalist with the BBC and Daily Mail, trying his own rather amusing hand at the game. Des conducted some fascinating live interviews with paralympians Josie Pearson and James Bevis, as well as members of the England Blind Football team who represented their country in Beijing.
Guests, staff and students filled the seating in the sports hall and we all shared the feeling of excitement that the new facilities will provide a world of new experience and opportunity for RNC students, for disability sport throughout the UK and for the people of Herefordshire.

Thank you to everyone who was able to share the day with us. If you were unable to make it, please do come and see us at any time. You will be very welcome.
