InSITE is a free and independent web magazine developed by and for young people in Herefordshire.
InSITE is a platform for the views and opinions of Herefordshire’s young people. The e-magazine is run entirely by a committed team of young people from across the county. The magazine includes articles, stories, photographs, artwork, reviews, audio and video work. If you are aged 13-19 and would like to get involved contact the Youth Times team on 01432 344039 or email info@insitemag.net.
The Youth Times Project was launched by The Rural Media Company in Spring 2003 to provide working opportunities for young people in Herefordshire. Youth Times is a countywide publishing and training project for young people aged 13 to 19 and over 350 young people take part every year. It allows them to explore local, national and global issues, participate in debate, influence decision making and have a voice on issues that affect them. With the support of media professionals, groups of young people take part in journalism workshops and media training sessions to learn the skills needed to publish their own e-magazine, InSITE.
Youth Times has its own Press Office where young correspondents, designers, reporters and photographers produce InSITE and take part in workshops. The scheme is also delivered through outreach media workshops all over the county in youth clubs, youth groups and schools. The workshops train young people to turn their ideas into stories and explore issues that matter to them with a view to publishing them.
